BBC Electrone

RESTORATION PROJECT

The Kingsway/Rochford organ team has taken on a new project.

The Compton Electrone Organ designed by the BBC for use in their Maida Vale studios in the 1950s is now owned by Tim Wardley. It has an interesting history being used to accompany orchestras when broadcasting programmes like Friday Night is Music Night with Bill Davis as the organist.
When restored it will be toured around the country at concert venues.

A Web site has been created by Pat Dunham, one of the team, to carry news on the restoration.
